Dr. Samuel Donyina-Ameyaw, the current Board Chairman was elected into the Board of Directors in 2006. He is a senior economist with over twenty nine (29) years working experience in the Central Bank of Ghana. He holds PhD in Economics, majoring in Econometrics from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. His PhD thesis was on the Construction of a Macroeconometric Model for the Ghanaian Economy. He has had extensive training in Banking and Finance, Projects and Programme Management and financial restructuring programs in the United States of America.
Dr. Ameyaw has worked in almost every Department of the Central Bank, including the Research Department, Banking Supervision, Treasury Department, Monetary Policy Department, and the Governor’s Department. He became a Technical Advisor to the Minister for Finance and Economic Planning at the Ministry of Finance between 2009 – 2011. Currently, he is the Director In-Charge of Debt Management Department at the Ministry of Finance. Dr. Ameyaw is highly analytical with demonstrated experience in multiple problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail. He has passion for research, hard working, and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment. He has made several publications in many international journals.
